English Oak (Quercus robur)  Division - Magnoliaphyta Class - Magnoliopsida Subclass - Hamamelididae Order - Fagales Family - Fagaceae Genus - Quercus  The English oak was introduced to America, from Britain, of course. It is a very nice tree, sturdy and slow-growing. It does, however, send off lots of its long acorns. Given a chance, these sprout and do their thing.
