Black-eyed susans are considered one of the most common North American wildflowers, but in Philadelphia, they are mostly seen either cultivated as an ornamental or spread from an area of cultivation. They can, however, be found growing wild in park areas and such. The plants photographed here spread from the planted wildflower sites along the Delaware.
